Become a Model - Sapphires’ books are open!
Don’t forget that our agency are always looking for models from across the UK for commercial and fashion modelling work nationwide and further afield.
We’re on the lookout for girls that are 5′7″ or over and boys 5′11″ and over, with a commercial or fashion look. Experience isn’t required, just a good look and the willingness to put in the hard work required to choose modelling as a career.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, drop us an email at contact(at)sapphiresmodel.com (replace the (at) with @!). Don’t forget to include some clear snapshots; a headshot and a full length photo. They don’t have to be professional and certainly don’t spend any money to get them done! Just get a few pictures with a digital camera and email them over!
For more information visit our main application page at http://www.sapphiresmodel.com/become.asp.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Geeky Sapphires Secret #1!
Like all children of the 80’s I have a shameful addiction that I can’t keep to myself any more… I’m a Neighbours fan!
In a masterstroke of programming genius Channel 5 have decided to start showing Neighbours at 7pm which means I’m usually walking through the door as it starts and get to watch the inhabitants of Ramsey Street get into ridiculously improbable life and death situations week in, week out.
Despite more than a few dodgy plot lines in the past I’ve always given the writers the benefit of the doubt, but this time they overstepped the mark… they killed Marco!!!
Marco always reminded me of my older cousin and as a fellow entrepreneur I always had a soft spot for him. His death was worse than all of Harold Bishop’s family dying in a plane crash rolled into one!
Today was Marco’s funeral and it was time to wave farewell. Thankfully Marco made an appearance as a ghost who helped his newlywed (and widowed) wife get through the day.
I’m so annoyed that they killed of Marco… personally I think that Oliver Barnes should have died!! I’m going to be writing to the producers to try and get them to turn the last couple of weeks into a Dallas style extended dream sequence so Marco can be resurrected.
I’ve just realised that this post probably means nothing to anyone who doesn’t watch the show… but what the hell!
The Fashion Business
The best thing about running your own business is you never know who you’ll meet from one day to the next. Today we were privileged enough to have met Lauretta Roberts, the editor of Drapers. We found out all about her plans for the magazine and got a few valuable tips about our own business. We even managed to offer a few tips on what’s happening in Birmingham at the moment!!! Who says being a Brummie doesn’t have it’s advantages!!!
The Apocalypse is late, apparently
Ah well the fact I’m typing this after a long day means that the world didn’t end at 8.30am as predicted… the worst part is that I pigged out on fish and chips the night before on the off chance it was my last meal and now I’ve got to burn off that colossal calorie intake!!
Anyway it turns out after all that kerfuffle yesterday’s efforts were really just a practice run… those of us in the know are already aware that the REAL end of the world is going to be October 21st!
(don’t worry though, Sapphires will still be taking bookings for October 22nd and beyond just in case!!!)
The Girl on the Magazine Cover
Here at Sapphires we get asked all the time what it’s like to work at a model agency, and we’ve found the perfect documentary to show you! Neely, our official Sapphires ‘vintagephile’, stumbled across this online and it’s too interesting not to share with you!
Take a glimpse back to ‘behind the scenes’ of an agency back in 1940! Things haven’t changed to much since then… even the fashion is back in!
The New Sapphires Blog is now live!
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the new and improved Sapphires Blog! From now on we’ll be updated the blog with all the latest goings on at Sapphires!
Keep checking this page because this will be the first place for you to find out about news, new signings… and sometimes just cool stuff that we’ve found online!
